The town is five miles from Worcester and approximately 23 miles from Birmingham accessed from the M5 motorway at Junction 5 (from the North) or Junction 6 (from the South).

For people driving on the motorway it is often recognised by the radio transmitter masts which for years have made Droitwich a main link in the history of radio broadcasting.

It has a rich history leading to Droitwich Spa Today. The town has existed as a settlement since the bronze age being one of the main centres for brine and salt production. Even today it has a modern Brine Baths in the centre of the town, adjoining the local private hospital and open to everyone for a brine bath, beauty treatments and fitness facilities.

The current population of the town is about 25,000 and rising.

Droitwich Spa is ideally situated for touring the beautiful Worcestershire villages and Warwickshire countryside,as well as being a gateway to the Cotswolds.

It is an excellent stopping place for anyone heading for the South of England or South Wales. There is excellent accommodation from five star hotels to bed and breakfast and a wealth of good eating places in the town and surrounding villages.

The area is also a centre for canal and river cruising with its network of canals and closeness to the River Severn.
