Wednesday 8 September to Thursday 30 September Jinney Ring Hosts Two Major Art ExhibitionsArt-lovers are in for a treat this September thanks to two free exhibitions being hosted by the Jinney Ring Craft Centre in Hanbury, Worcestershire.
From 8 – 30 September the centre will be showcasing the work of more than 15 leading Midlands’ artists as part of a contemporary sculpture trail within its grounds.
It will also be exhibiting a range of highly-collectable limited edition prints by renowned local artist Norman Neasom, who died earlier this year.
Displayed around the centre’s gardens and duck ponds, the sculpture trail will feature over 30 original pieces. These will range from a 7ft set of steel lilies designed by Hanbury-based artist blacksmith Michelle Parker, to a life-size motorbike and rider made by Gavin Darby from recycled metal.
“We wanted a wide variety of pieces that would appeal to all tastes and ages and the artists have really done us proud,” said Jinney Ring owner Amanda Sunter.
“As well as a selection of quirky and comical sculptures, we’ve got a number of thought-provoking architectural pieces on display and the trail has been carefully designed so that people can get a close-up view of individual exhibits.”
Ms Sunter explained that visitors will also be able to watch some of the exhibitors at work as six of the Jinney Ring’s resident artists, all of whom are showing pieces, will be in their workshops throughout the exhibition.
“We wanted the art to be really accessible and it’s great that people will be able to actually see the artists in action,” added Ms Sunter. “The sculptures reflect the wealth of artistic talent we have in the Midlands and as the trail proves, whatever type of garden you have, there’s a piece of art to suit!”
Local talent is also very evident in the memorial exhibition of work by Norman Neasom. Running throughout September in the Jinney Ring’s farmhouse restaurant, the exhibition will feature limited edition prints of over 20 of his key works.
“Our aim was to hold an exhibition that celebrated Norman’s work and the paintings we’ve secured certainly illustrate his diverse style,” said Ms Sunter.
“As well as a collection of pen and ink drawings, we’ll be showing figurative work and some of the rural landscapes for which he’s renowned and we’re confident there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned collector or someone viewing his work for the first time.”
Both the sculpture trail and the Neasom exhibition are open from 10.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday and 11.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday.
Admission is free and there is a fun children’s art quiz linked into the trail which is available free of charge on arrival.
All prints and sculptures are for sale, but sculptures will need to remain in place for the duration of the exhibition. Venue: Jinney Ring Craft Centre Contact: Tel: 01527 821272 Web site: Details (Note. Link will open in a new window or tab depending on your browser set up.) |
