A ‘GOLDEN’ OPENING FOR ALDI DROITWICH

The new Aldi store in Droitwich opened on Thursday 6 March, when customers were given some ‘golden’ giveaways.

Customers queued to see the ribbon cut at 9am and the first 100 customers were also treated to a special opening day gift, with one lucky shopper walking away with a 32” LCD TV.

Store Manager, David Evans explains: “We held an exciting event to help us celebrate the launch of our new store in Droitwich, with plenty of superb giveaways to introduce customers to our extensive product range. “We handed a golden ticket to the first 100 customers, so they could discover which of our opening day gifts they have won. One lucky shopper received a ticket for the 32” LCD TV and other gifts included some of our fantastic opening week specials, such as a portable DVD player, digital TV recorder and slim line digital camera, plus a selection of luxury wine and chocolate products.”
The store also sampled a range of food products, so customers could get a taste of what they can expect from their new Aldi store and its high quality, great value offering. The celebrations continued over the weekend too, as renowned wine connoisseur and journalist, Philippe Boucheron hosted a wine tasting event on Saturday 8 March, in celebration of the store’s opening week.

Philippe gave tips on how to taste wine and the various things to look for in a wine, as customers sampled a selection of Aldi’s fine wines and cheeses. Aldi offers customers a wide selection of quality goods; from fresh fruit and vegetables, through to household cleaning products and beauty essentials. It also provides a variety of chilled goods, including a selection of finest deli foods, plus a range of frozen products and an extensive choice of wine and spirits.

Droitwich shoppers can also look forward to Aldi’s renowned “specials” days every Thursday and Sunday, when customers can get amazing deals on a range of exceptional one-off products, such as LCD TVs, Clothing and even DIY equipment.
The new Aldi store on Roman Way Retail Park in Droitwich is open:

Monday – Friday: 9.00am - 8.00pm
Saturday: 8.30am - 8.00pm
Sunday: 10.00am – 4.00pm

The Mayor & Rotary Flood Relief Fund

 

Droitwich Spa was flooded in the High Street , Queen St, Vines lane, the Leisure centre, the Firs and Hunters Way on Westlands.

The Mayor, Richard Morris has set up with the Rotary Clubs in the town an appeal for funds to help individuals and businesses.

There are immediate needs so any money contributed will be in and out immediately.

The Salvation Army, who have been provided support to victims have themselves been flooded and lost all their stock.

They are appealing for clothes to be delivered to their old shop in St Andrews precinct , to which they have been allowed to return by the Salters Shopping Centre management.

- Cheques made payable to "The Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa Charitable Trust".

Please support the immediate needs of areas in & around Droitwich Spa affected by the floods (not just the High St).
