Droitwich Business Forum
The Business Forum meets up to six times a year and is held at various locations throughout Droitwich, where likeminded businessfolk from the town and surrounding areas can meet and exchange ideas to benefit their own businesses and the community as a whole.

During the past two years the membership of the forum has grown significantly and attracts a vibrant cross-section of businesses. The meetings are always complimented by a variety of business driven presentations, all extremely interesting and enlightening.

At nearly all meetings representatives from the pro-active local councils are in attendance to listen, contribute and reflect.

Report on The Droitwich Spa Business Forum
held on 30 January 2012.

At the last forum meeting Sian Griffiths MRTPI MRICS gave an extremely informative talk on the South Worcestershire Development Plan timescales and Neighbourhood Plans under the title "Where Do We Go From Here?"

Sian pointed out that many towns and parishes throughout the county and nationwide had already started their Neighbourhood Plans. It was therefore crucial to have input to neighbourhood plans from the Droitwich business community.

It was decided the Droitwich Spa Business Forum should seek to be involved with the town's neighbourhood planning process and to work with other non political organisations such as the Civic Society.

Sian would prepare a letter to the Town Council expressing our interest in being involved.

There was a report on Town Events and the Opportunities for Local
Businesses by Janet Yates the Droitwich Spa Area Partnership Manager. The Water & Music Festival, Jubilee Celebrations, St Richards Day and Salt Day were all seen as opportunities for retail and commercial opportunities within the town, and it was hoped to repeat and expand the successful Business Showcase held in 2011 during the Salt Day 2012.

John Armstrong reported on the Welcome to Droitwich Spa Business Pack which was in course of preparation in conjunction with Wychavon District Council.
There is a planned issue date of early April 2012.

John also reported on the Wychavon District Council Business Rate Payers breakfast meeting on the 25 th January. A number of important links to information have been added to the business forum webpage see >>>.

The Shop and Deal Local promotion on the website has been extended south to the Copcut Island and west to the Berry Hill Industrial Estate but does not yet include the estate. This will be added later in the year.

The next meeting will be held in March and would be announced soon.
