"My Life as a television set designer" By Lynda Kettle
The objectives of the Civic Society are:
  • To stimulate public interest in the area of benefit, being the Town of Droitwich Spa and the surrounding area.
  • To promote high environmental standards in the area of benefit.
  • To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic and public interest in the area of benefit.
Current priorities for the society are:
  • Improving the image of the High Street.
  • Pressing for high quality developments in and around the Canal Basin and Hanbury Road.
  • Lobbying for more public open spaces, footpaths and cycle tracks around Droitwich Spa.
  • Pressing for a comprehensive plan for the Magistrates' Court/Health Centre area.
News Spring 2005

The Society has:

  • Contributed to discussions with councillors on replacement for the Lido.
  • Suggested improvements to the shop fronts of the High Street and restoration/refurbishment of historic buildings.
  • Completed studies to strengthen the green necklace proposals.
